White dressed girls
And black jacket boys,
Hair hanging down,
Covering their eyes.
And the boys meet the boys,
After school,
And the girls hold hands
In the last church pew.
Hearts will be broken under the stars,
But someone above is ready to heal all the scars.
When the lovers, are sinners,
Then what are you, pray tell?
When the lovers, are sinners,
Then what are you, oh sir.
The white gloved girls,
And the black tie boys,
That the parents pulled away,
When they started sharing toys,
But the bridge,
Across rough waters,
Swim to shore,
Don’t meet your in law daughters.
Jesus doesn’t judge based on privates,
Its the love behind the action, that’s what matters.
When the lovers, are sinners,
Then what are you, pray tell?
When the lovers, are sinners,
Then what are you, oh sir.
The family didn’t come,
To the nice spring wedding,
They both wore suits,
God stood attending.
Protecting a love
From his own narrow minded,
Tried to shed a light
To something kept hiding.
