Harder To Steal

Here we go, making love like fugitives to the law,

Here we go, jumping in before we know how deep it goes,

And every moment gets a little bit stranger,

And every breath gets a little bit harder to steal,

Where do they keep the words that mean the most?

In the heart, in the heart, in the heart.

Is that where you lie?

Is that where you sleep, in the night, when you’re not by my side,

In the heart, in the heart, in the heart,

One shot tonight,

Is that where you sleep?

Here we go, running off like butterflies to the sun,

Here we go, tripping over ourselves because we’re already done,

And every day gets a little bit brighter,

And every smile gets a little bit harder to tame,

Where do they keep the people that mean it the most?

In the heart, in the heart, in the heart.

Is that where you lie?

Is that where you sleep, in the night, when you’re not by my side,

In the heart, in the heart, in the heart,

One shot tonight,

Is that where you sleep?

And every breath gets a little bit harder to steal,

From you you, oh give it away,

Oh give it away.

And every breath gets a little bit harder to steal,

Harder to hear, harder to see you try.

Oh, give it away, oh give it away,

Where do they keep the words that mean the most?

In the heart, in the heart, in the heart.

Is that where you lie?

Is that where you sleep, in the night, when you’re not by my side,

In the heart, in the heart, in the heart,

One shot tonight,

Is that where you sleep?

Wouldn’t It Be Nice?

You split yourself in half

With the decisions that you make

Fooling your heart

But won’t you try again?

To keep it all together.

You’ll make yourself a mess

If you continue down this road

Where you trying to get to,

You’re not sure, but you’re sure gonna go.

Isn’t it nice, to pretend to be somebody else?

Just for a day, watch the world from outside your eyes.

Wouldn’t it be nice? To give it all up,

To let it slip away, and forget all your mistakes.

Wouldn’t it be nice? To wake up brand new,

To let it fix itself, and forget what it feels like, to really need help,

Wouldn’t it be nice? Couldn’t it be so nice.

Everyday is the same box

With the same walls cornered out

You keep making your excuses,

Just to keep up with the doubts.

You’re tired and you’re beaten,

By the blows of what could be,

But instead of fighting back,

You’re just backing down to their needs.

What’s your name?

Act your age,

Come on show it to me, what you’ve made inside that cage.

What’s your name?

Do you even know your face?

Could you pretend for just one day,

That you’ve never been wrong,

You’ve never done wrong,

Never been sorry,

Never had a reason,

Never need a reason,

You never…oh.

Wash Over Me

My feet stopped listening

Somehow I’m at your door

I’m sorry for the way I am sometimes

I don’t mean it, I don’t mean it.

If I knock would you let me in?

Would you even say hello

I’m sorry for the way I am just sometimes

If I could help it, I promise I would.

Stand in my room and hold my breath,

Cause in your hands, I will be still.

My heart is beating too loud,

But it’s waiting for every word on your tongue

To wash over me and drown them out.

My hands are shaking

Somehow I’m uncontrolled.

I’m sorry for the way I am sometimes,

I don’t mean it, I don’t mean it.

If you knock, you’ll be the first I’ll let in.

I’ll say hello and everything.

I’m sorry for the way I am sometimes,

If I could help it, I promise I would.

Stand in my room and hold my breath,

Cause in your hands, I will be still.

My heart is beating too loud,

But it’s waiting for every word on your tongue

To wash over me and drown them out.
