Not Broken (Not Yet)

You take what you need,

Though I know you can’t get enough,

Of my need to believe,

You’re something I could love, oh.

Heal me with words,

I can’t promise forever,

A lesson already learned,

From those back of my head whispers.

I’m not broken, no not yet,

I’m waiting for the knife to kiss my chest,

I’m not broken no not yet,

Waiting for your love to mean death.

Come take, this

Come break, me.

I don’t mind cause you make me feel so whole.

I don’t mind cause you make me feel so whole.

(Waiting for the knife to kiss my chest)

(Waiting for your love to mean death)

Mmm…You mind what you touch

Cause you’re excited for entry

Into a heart gated up,

You’re scared that you’ll scare me, oh.

Please heal me with words,

I won’t promise forever,

A lesson I already learned,

From the back my head whispers.

I’m not broken, no not yet,

I’m waiting for the knife to kiss my chest,

I’m not broken no not yet,

Waiting for your love to mean death.

Come take, this

Come break, me.

I don’t mind cause you make me feel so whole.

I don’t mind cause you make me feel so whole.

(Waiting for the knife to kiss my chest)

Oh, write my epitaph,

But don’t lie, don’t say you love me,

You know, you don’t quite know me.

Oh, write this epitaph,

But don’t say it, don’t say it, oh.

Cause I’m wrapped up in  the blanket,

Laying right next to the fire.

How do you deny yourself,

Once you’ve already had a taste?

I’m not broken, no not yet,

I’m waiting for the knife to kiss my chest,

I’m not broken no not yet,

Waiting for your love to mean death.

Come take, this

Come break, me.

I don’t mind cause you make me feel so whole.

I don’t mind cause you make me feel so whole.

(Waiting for the knife to kiss my chest)

Underdogs

Let’s be fearless

You know they’d eat you alive

Let’s be more than this

More than just these spaces of time

Where you right fit in

To their perfect outline

Woah, woah.

They’ve got you so convinced

You’re the weaker man and you’ll never win

But underdogs have a set of teeth, too.

They’ve got you so messed up,

Even my words won’t be enough

To get you through the night, to get to you.

Let’s be fearless

You know they’d eat you alive

Let’s be more than this

More than just these spaces of time

Where you right fit in

To their perfect outline

Woah, woah.

They’ve got you so believing,

That you’re the problem and you’re better off leaving,

But I know, that’s not true.

They’ve got you so torn up,

Let down, thinking you’re not enough,

But all I need is you.

Let’s be fearless

You know they’d eat you alive

Let’s be more than this

More than just these spaces of time

Where you right fit in

To their perfect outline

Woah, woah.

Let’s fly to the horizon,

And see if our wings melt at the sun,

Cause I’m falling, we’re falling,

And it’s killing them,

Oh it’s killing them,

That you’re still alive.

Let’s be fearless

You know they’d eat you alive

Let’s be more than this

More than just these spaces of time

Where you right fit in

To their perfect outline

Woah, woah.

Here (Duet)

Here we are again

Just sitting in the dark cause

I know that we’ve both got more

To say

Here we are again

Trying not to fall apart but

It’s easier for one

To walk away

And count the steps it’ll take to reach the door

I know, I know you’ve done it before,

So what still makes you stay?

(2): Here, I can be anything

And I know I won’t be rejected

I know I won’t be rejected.

(You know you’re always welcome here)

Here, I can be anything

And I know I won’t be rejected,

I know I won’t be rejected.

(1) But you still look so uncomfortable

I know your tongues in knots again

(2) Our loss for words is something fixable

I know we’ll speak again

Cause you’re the only one who’ll listen,

I mean it in the best way, I know how.

(2): Here, I can be anything

And I know I won’t be rejected

I know I won’t be rejected.

(You know you’re always welcome here)

Here, I can be anything

And I know I won’t be rejected,

I know I won’t be rejected.

(1) And it’ll get harder, and you’ll fight,

(2) And some nights I’ll stay awake,

Thinking of things I should’ve said to make it right

(1) And some nights, you’ll go to sleep

Angry with me, for being so stubborn

(2) But I know that you know that I’ll stay

As long as you want me to.

As long as you want me, too.

(2): Here, I can be anything

And I know I won’t be rejected

I know I won’t be rejected.

(You know you’re always welcome here)

Here, I can be anything

And I know I won’t be rejected,

I know I won’t be rejected.

Sunstar

I see one from my window,

Out of the corner of my eye,

It’s all it takes to break up the dark.

I see one from my window,

The rise and fall,

Of the meeting of time zones,

Somewhere above my head, and

I carry it with me,

The rising one.

Sunstar, in your moment of twilight

I saw you, I saw, in your shadow of lightning,

The power you’re hiding, my sunstar,

Come out in the day, come out in the night,

Stop hiding yourself, some of us need your light,

Oh, sunstar.
