Spinning On Its Heel

How can I still want more

Because I thought I had

Everything

I told you, some feelings aren’t forever,

But I guess my own will go on for a long time.

But now the world is spinning on it’s heel

I think it’s gonna stop if you touch and don’t feel

When it comes to you, I’m my own worst enemy

I hope you’re wrong, and your heart still beats for me.

How can I still ask more

Because I thought we had

Everything.

And I told you, I told you so, I told myself

But neither one of us listened, and I was right.

But now the world is spinning on it’s heel

I think it’s gonna stop if you touch and don’t feel

When it comes to you, I’m my own worst enemy

I hope you’re wrong, and your heart still beats for me.

Now I’m awake, and it’s 4 am,

And I wish you never said that,

I wish you never said that.

Now I’m awake, and it’s 4 am,

Do you wish you never said that,

Will you wish you never said that?

Should I be thankful?

Should I be broken?

I’m still crying on your bed.

I wish you never said that.

I wish you never said that.

Cause now if you, change your mind,

I doubt it will, change mine.

But now the world is spinning on it’s heel

I think it’s gonna stop if you touch and don’t feel

When it comes to you, I’m my own worst enemy

I hope you’re wrong, and your heart still beats for me.

But now the world is spinning on it’s heel

I think it’s gonna stop if you touch and don’t feel

When it comes to you, I’m my own worst enemy

I hope you’re wrong, and your heart still beats for me.

Now we sleep on the dinner table,

With rules I can’t keep straight,

Cause I can’t do nothing right,

With everyone’s eyes always on me.

Consumer Race

Hey, miss america,

Wave with a smile,

Keep your head up,

And you won’t see what’s beneath your eyes.

Hey, miss squeaky clean,

Tell me what your camera sees,

Perfume, what privacy?

Reputation, jekyll-hyde you see.

We’re the consumer race,

How much can I pay

For the hearts that I break

With my mind set on making

A dollar.

We’re the consumer race,

With our minds set on making a dollar.

Hey, mr president,

How’s the chair you’re sitting in,

Don’t make a move, cause the ground

Will sure be caving in.

We’re the consumer race,

How much can I pay

For the hearts that I break

With my mind set on making

A dollar.

We’re the consumer race,

With our minds set on making a dollar.

We’re the consumer race,

How much can I pay

For the hearts that I break

With my mind set on making

A dollar.

We’re the consumer race,

With our minds set on making a dollar.

Feel Yourself

It’s hard to see behind the lights

Behind the curtains you would find

The plastic strings, instead of wings

But still they fly.

Darling

I feel you

But you don’t even feel yourself

You’re trying

Too hard

To be what you can’t expect of yourself

Perfection

Is a coveted disease in your head

A destination

You’ve no hope to find

Darling, I feel you,

But you don’t even feel yourself.

It’s hard to find something that fits right

When everything is nothing that excites

And I, am well aware, the world’s not fair,

But still they fly.

Darling

I feel you

But you don’t even feel yourself

You’re trying

Too hard

To be what you can’t expect of yourself

Perfection

Is a coveted disease in your head

A destination

You’ve no hope to find

Darling, I feel you,

But you don’t even feel yourself.

You’re trying,

You’re trying,

You’re trying,

You’ll try again.

Darling

I feel you

But you don’t even feel yourself

You’re trying

Too hard

To be what you can’t expect of yourself

Perfection

Is a coveted disease in your head

A destination

You’ve no hope to find

Darling, I feel you,

But you don’t even feel yourself.
