Mixed Up

Cause if we’re all just going nowhere,

We might as well go together,

Split the cab fair.

And it’s easy knowing who you are,

When you get all alone.

But when I’m with you things get mixed up,

We bleed right into one,

And I forget myself.

I forget myself.

Never Tell Lies

I found some feelings in the bottom of my sock drawer

I thought I hid them from you, But I just hid them from me

I’m sorry I was never honest about anything

I’m sorry I told you I never tell lies.

Up until now I forgot that I had these

Now they’re like sand in my eyes.

Maybe I shouldn’t have told you

That I never tell lies.

I found some memories in the back of my closet

I thought I threw these away, but I kept them instead,

I’m sorry I was never honest about anything

Up until now I forgot that I hated these.

Now it’s like one more regret

Maybe I shouldn’t have told you

That I never tell lies.

I lied, I lie all the time,

To you, to myself,

To everyone,

I don’t know why.

I found some pictures in the bottom of my heart

I thought I burned them, but I’m too scared of fire.

I’m sorry I was never honest about anything

Up until now I had sworn I was fine.

Now it’s like the smokes in my eyes,

Maybe I shouldn’t have told you

That I never tell lies.

Never tell lies.

I found some feelings in the bottom of my sock drawer,

I thought I hid them from you, but I just hid them from me.

Please Smile

And now it’s out. And I can go back to doing things like breathing, and thinking about things other than you. Reality is crazy sometimes I think, especially when it hits you hard. I don’t appreciate reality with you. I hardly notice it when we talk, honestly. I forget myself, and I forget who I pretend to be. You make it easy. Not to breathe, of course. But to forget. Sometimes we could all use a little less oxygen. I’m going to write a song called that. I hope you’ll like it. I hope it makes you smile.

Meet The Sun

On the back of a butterfly

You sat and watched the world go by

You watched the little ghosts play and seek

And then you saw when the two souls met the sun.

The cheek on a summer breeze

You lapped the river, cooled my knees,

Reminded of some old country song.

And you showed me how the two souls met the sun.

You fell but I will

Catch you

You cry but I will

Make you laugh

I promise I will

Be there

Until our souls one day

Meet the sun.

Now the grass is just your pillow

Watch the sky lay next to me.

You be the stars, and I’ll be the dark,

One day we’ll watch the two souls meet the sun.

You fell but I will

Catch you

You cry but I will

Make you laugh

I promise I will

Be there

Until our souls one day

Meet the sun.

You be the stars, and I’ll be the dark,

Until our souls one day meet the sun.

You’re Gone

I break the mirrors

Not to see me cry

I scream at the walls

Like they’re the reason why

I know it’s all my fault

But I can’t come to terms

You left because of me

And now that you’re gone

I still stand in your shadow,

I still talk to your memory,

I’ll never forget the way we danced.

(But you’re gone)

I still stand in your shadow,

I still sing to your melody,

I’ll never forget the way it was.

(But you’re gone)

I make up stories

To escape the truth

I’m just a shell of a girl

Scared, without you

Maybe there’ll be tomorrow

Maybe there wont

To find me a voice from somewhere

But now that you’re gone

I still stand in your shadow,

I still talk to your memory,

I’ll never forget the way we danced.

(But you’re gone)

I still stand in your shadow,

I still sing to your melody,

I’ll never forget the way it was.

(But you’re gone)

I’ll never forgive

Myself for trusting you

I’ll never forgive

Myself for losing you

I’ll never forgive

Myself for trusting you

I’ll never forgive

Myself for losing you

I’ll never forgive

Myself for missing you

But now that you’re gone.

It’s like there’s new air,

Without your scent,

Something becoming clear,

Maybe I’m just insane,

From deprivation,

Maybe I’m onto something,

Like you were never worth this.

I can only see this.

After you’re gone.

Go Ahead, Go

I don’t wanna be bitter

I don’t wanna be angry

But if you’re planning to go then

Please just leave me

I don’t need any more heartache

I don’t need more time wasted

I don’t wanna be bitter

I don’t wanna be lonely

They said you were on your way

They said you were packing up

But I’m the last to know

That you’re leaving me all alone

How did you think I would take it

Did you think I would feel

When you called three hundred miles down the road

They said you were on your way

I’m the last to hear it

I’m saying go ahead, go.

Please don’t make excuses

Don’t lead me on

Please don’t tell me

This is temporary

Cause you made it more.

Please don’t make excuses

I won’t make you stay

If you lost something with me

Go find it on your way

They said you were on your way

They said you were packing up

But I’m the last to know

That you’re leaving me all alone

How did you think I would take it

Did you think I would feel

When you called three hundred miles down the road

They said you were on your way

I’m the last to hear it

I’m saying go ahead, go.

Don’t call me. Don’t call me.

Not three hundred miles, not three thousand miles.

Don’t sorry. Don’t be sorry.

I don’t wanna see your face, ever, not ever, again.

They said you were on your way

They said you were packing up

But I’m the last to know

That you’re leaving me all alone

How did you think I would take it

Did you think I would feel

When you called three hundred miles down the road

They said you were on your way

I’m the last to hear it

I’m saying go ahead, go.

Oh, baby, why ya waiting?

Go ahead, go.

In The Middle

Is that really what you think of my tears?

You don’t see weakness you see beauty?

C’mon am I supposed to believe you?

Are you supposed to believe me?

Why not start it in the middle,

Cause here you can help things.

The end’s gonna be a surprise.

I’ve been singing to myself,

And I dedcided I can’t help things,

So I’m gonna sit here and cry.

My Kind

Someone took your old warped matches,

Turned them into fires.

Is that why you sit in the dark,

Cause you can’t quite face the light.

What’s her name the one that broke you,

He kisses me on the cheek.

I wonder if it’s my name,

That he, refuses to speak.

Love will clothe you, love will hurt you,

Love may make you blind.

Love will steal you, love will you tease you,

Love will leave you behind.

Love will you break you, love may make you cry.

Love will love you, love, you’re just my kind.

I’ll be just another girl,

And you be just another boy,

To dream about with my eyes wide open,

When it get’s too hard, I’ll close em tight.

Don’t you think you’re easily forgotten,

Cause my heart never forgets.

The hands it lays itself in,

When mine keep dropping it.

Love will clothe you, love will hurt you,

Love may make you blind.

Love will steal you, love will you tease you,

Love will leave you behind.

Love will you break you, love may make you cry.

Love will love you, love, you’re just my kind.

I forget the rest of the words, but I had so much to say.

My love will clothe you, my love will hurt you,

My love may make you blind.

My love will steal you, my love will you tease you,

My love will leave you behind.

My love will you break you, my love may make you cry.

My love will love you, my love you’re just my kind.

The Last Day (Best Day)

I wanna wake up to my funeral,

We’ll all start dancing, break out the champagne,

Welcome to my funeral,

The last day, will be the best day.

Good morning, love,

So that’s where they’ve been keeping the sun,

Around here.

Good morning, mister death,

Have you met mister it’s not quite my time yet.

I wanna wake up to my funeral,

Let’s start dancing, break out the champagne,

Welcome to my funeral,

The last day, will be the best day.

Every good looking male in black,

Please strip down to your boxers,

No need to be more revealing than that,

My mother’s here, after all.

There’s no mourning, so please

Get back to your morning,

Don’t shed a tear, don’t miss me,

I’m always here.

I wanna wake up to my funeral,

Let’s start dancing, break out the champagne,

Welcome to my funeral,

The last day, will be the best day.

Good morning, love.

So that’s where they’ve been keeping the sun,

Oh…

I wanna wake up, i wanna wake up.

Good morning, love.

I wanna wake up to my funeral,

Let’s start dancing, break out the champagne,

Welcome to my funeral,

The last day, will be the best day.
