Orange and Purple

Remember that summer

We spent attached

You were all I ever wanted to do

Sit out on the lake and talk all night

Be stupid kids and kiss and fight

Seems so long but was it just last night?

Remember that summer, cause I do

The sky is orange and purple

And it makes me think of you

And when I count the stars

I hope you’re counting too

I hope you’re counting too

We were sitting on the roof

At ten pm

I was trying to get in the mood

Even when it started raining

You never started running

But hey, where’d you run to?

The sky is orange and purple

And it makes me think of you

And when I count the stars

I hope you’re counting too

I hope you’re counting too

Whole New World

The faded lettering

When all you are is all you’ve ever been

What kind of person dwells on

Everything they’ve ever said

And watches for words they know just can’t be true

You’re more than your accomplishments

You’re more than your new goals

But you can’t reach them in the past,

I know you know

Let go, let go

Open yourself to a whole new world

Challenge yourself to a whole new world

Nothing has to change

But things can’t stay the same

Let go

The way you’re lingering

In the smell of a day that’s past

It’s stale and doesn’t fit anymore

You can’t live in your memory

And savor everything you’ve ever did

Let go, let go

Open yourself to a whole new world

Challenge yourself to a whole new world

Nothing has to change

But things can’t stay the same

Let go

You’re more than your accomplishments

You’re more than your new goals

But you can’t reach them in the past,

I know you know

Let go, let go

Open yourself to a whole new world

Challenge yourself to a whole new world

Nothing has to change

But things can’t stay the same

Let go

The faded lettering

When all you are is all you’ve been

Let go, let go

Lucky

Is it impossible

To find what we want and keep it

Without ever wanting anything else at all

Can you ever remember

A time when you were contented

By the scents, the sights, the feels of all you have

Do you feel lucky

When you wake up everyday

Shouldn’t you feel lucky

When you wake up everyday

I feel lucky

Waking up next to you

Still waiting for the day that I don’t

Isn’t it strange to think that

I, in my fragile state would find something gold like you

I can’t even remember

A time when stranger’s words wouldn’t cut me like yours do

Do you feel lucky

When you wake up everyday

Shouldn’t you feel lucky

When you wake up everyday

I feel lucky

Waking up next to you

Still waiting for the day that I don’t

Your hands are fuller than you think

You thirst but you still have things to drink

Satisfaction should be easier to come by

Your eyes are scrutinous to me

But you still have someone by your side

What else do you take for granted, baby

Do you feel lucky

When you wake up everyday

Shouldn’t you feel lucky

When you wake up everyday

I feel lucky

Waking up next to you

Still waiting for the day that I don’t
