Sideways Living

She had more devil in her kiss,

But she liked the angel in his eyes.

A little girl with a twist,

Man she sure left him surprised.

He said he only did it sideways

And she said her, too

He told her he was playing,

And she said she was for true.

She had him on knees,

Begging for what a boy needs.

Sideways loving, sideways kissing,

Sideways looking, sideways twisting.

No one sees straight in some hours.

Sideways loving, sideways kissing,

Sideways looking, sideways living.

He watched her crawl out of her skin,

He watched the tears come to her eyes.

He didn’t wanna stand no more,

But he knew to sacrifice.

She had him on knees,

Begging for what a boy needs.

Sideways loving, sideways kissing,

Sideways looking, sideways twisting.

No one sees straight in some hours.

Sideways loving, sideways kissing,

Sideways looking, sideways living.

But you never last for long when

You get down on your wants.

Two sideways lovers always get

Sideways eyes,

But that one last time,

She had him on knees,

Begging for what a boy needs.

Sideways loving, sideways kissing,

Sideways looking, sideways twisting.

No one sees straight in some hours.

Sideways loving, sideways kissing,

Sideways looking, sideways living.

Strange Questions

Do you believe in perfection

Do you believe in reality

When you close your eyes

Do you see black or

Do you see pictures

All over the walls of your mind.

Do you believe in time

Being a glue for brokenness

Or just two souls who can’t

Fit in.

What do your edges look like?

What makes you smile?

I wanna know everything

About the beautiful stranger

Standing in front of me

Cause I think I could love him

I wanna know everything

But then you’d think I was strange

Would you think I was strange

If I said I think I love you

After I asked you a few strange questions

I just wanna know everything

What do you do in the night time?

Do you sleep, do you dream,

Do you think for awhile first

About the whole universe

It could swallow us whole.

Do you believe in love?

Do you believe in wasting your time?

I wanna know everything

About the beautiful stranger

Standing in front of me

Cause I think I could love him

I wanna know everything

But then you’d think I was strange

Would you think I was strange

If I said I think I love you

After I asked you a few strange questions

I just wanna know everything

I have to know, I have to know.

I wanna know everything

About the beautiful stranger

Standing in front of me

Cause I think I could love him

I wanna know everything

But then you’d think I was strange

Would you think I was strange

If I said I think I love you

After I asked you a few strange questions

I just wanna know everything

I’ve got these strange questions…

Do you believe in perfection?

Do you believe in reality?

I wanna know everything…

All I need a yes or no

A simple please stay or please just go

Cause you’re pushing me out

And you pull back in

And I don’t know if this okay

I think I need it to end

I need it to end…

You said you’d let it be simple

And then you kissed me goodnight

But I laid awake thinking

Cause nothing’s simple with your type.

Consequence, Not Coincidence.

I haven’t said I love you in some time

I waited for you to notice the silence,

But you never did.

You talked right over it, right over me,

In my quiet thoughts.

I should’ve known better than to expect somebody else,

To understand my reasoning for anything.

But this is consequence, not coincidence,

I’m better off alone anyway,

I guess that much is true.

Cause if you don’t want to care,

Then I don’t need you here,

So I’m letting go, no use in holding on,

What will fall apart anyways.

But this is consequence, not coincidence,

That I figured out that I’m better off alone.

I haven’t made a motion to come and see you

I waited for you to notice my absence

But you never did.

You took advantage of it,

You took advantage of me,

With my quiet thoughts,

I should’ve known better that to expect somebody else,

To understand my reason for anything.

But this is consequence, not coincidence,

I’m better off alone anyway,

I guess that much is true.

Cause if you don’t want to care,

Then I don’t need you here,

So I’m letting go, no use in holding on,

What will fall apart anyways.

But this is consequence, not coincidence,

That I figured out that I’m better off alone.

So when he realizes, I’m not by his side,

I’ll already be gone.

The memories, of him and me,

Will be the only thing he has to recall.

I won’t be sad, I won’t be sorry,

And the worst part is he won’t either,

Cause he never knew what he was missing,

You never knew what you were missing.

But this is consequence, not coincidence,

I’m better off alone anyway,

I guess that much is true.

Cause if you don’t want to care,

Then I don’t need you here,

So I’m letting go, no use in holding on,

What will fall apart anyways.

But this is consequence, not coincidence,

That I figured out that I’m better off alone.
