What You Wanted

So I’m praying for a rain,

Just to wash me down with change,

Cause I still smell like you,

Even though you’ve gone away.

I never got to say my goodbyes,

It’s not the same with the tears in my eyes,

No one could save you from yourself,

It’s time that I accept this and realize,

It wasn’t me, I couldn’t make you stay,

Every time I washed in your blood,

Didn’t make it all okay.

It wasn’t me, I couldn’t make you stay,

You couldn’t pretend,

Not even for me,

That this was what you wanted,

What you wanted to be.

So I’m praying for my end,

Just to be able to start all over again.

Cause I’m still waiting for you,

Even though you won’t come back and,

It wasn’t me, I couldn’t make you stay,

Every time I washed in your blood,

Didn’t make it all okay.

It wasn’t me, I couldn’t make you stay,

You couldn’t pretend,

Not even for me,

That this was what you wanted,

What you wanted to be.

If I’m still alive, then why do I feel so dead.

If I’m still alive, then why do I feel so dead.

If I’m still alive, then why do I feel so dead.

It wasn’t me, I couldn’t make you stay,

Every time I washed in your blood,

Didn’t make it all okay.

It wasn’t me, I couldn’t make you stay,

You couldn’t pretend,

Not even for me,

That this was what you wanted,

What you wanted to be.
