When The Lovers Are Sinners

White dressed girls

And black jacket boys,

Hair hanging down,

Covering their eyes.

And the boys meet the boys,

After school,

And the girls hold hands

In the last church pew.

Hearts will be broken under the stars,

But someone above is ready to heal all the scars.

When the lovers, are sinners,

Then what are you, pray tell?

When the lovers, are sinners,

Then what are you, oh sir.

The white gloved girls,

And the black tie boys,

That the parents pulled away,

When they started sharing toys,

But the bridge,

Across rough waters,

Swim to shore,

Don’t meet your in law daughters.

Jesus doesn’t judge based on privates,

Its the love behind the action, that’s what matters.

When the lovers, are sinners,

Then what are you, pray tell?

When the lovers, are sinners,

Then what are you, oh sir.

The family didn’t come,

To the nice spring wedding,

They both wore suits,

God stood attending.

Protecting a love

From his own narrow minded,

Tried to shed a light

To something kept hiding.

Tomorrow’s Valentine

I buy coffee in there every morning,

But yesterday you took me by surprise.

I said hello, tried to keep walking.

You were successful, didn’t say hi.

Asked for your number, I got your smile.

That was enough, so I gave you mine.

You were a stranger,

Now I can’t say goodbye.

Tomorrow’s valentine.

Oh, I promise you’ll be mine.

Oh, no, maybe not tonight,

But baby, be tomorrow’s valentine.

We shared a taxi, talked about tv.

I don’t own one, but I could buy one.

It makes me feel good, when you laugh with me.

I don’t know you, not much just some.

You said you’d called me, maybe you will.

I’ll be waiting, til the brand new sun.

You were a stranger,

Now I can’t say goodbye.

Tomorrow’s valentine.

Oh, I promise you’ll be mine.

Oh, no, maybe not tonight,

But baby, be tomorrow’s valentine.

You said you’d call me, indeed you did.

We’re still talking, I hope this never ends.

You were a stranger,

Now I can’t say goodbye.

Tomorrow’s valentine.

Oh, I promise you’ll be mine.

Oh, no, maybe not tonight,

But baby, be tomorrow’s valentine.

Why write actual songs when titles come to you all the time?

Tomorrow’s Valentine. Elude Me. Everything You Always Wanted, Never Needed. Hold the Salt, Pass the Sugar.

But You Don’t

You know which words to avoid,

Which ones will hurt,

But you don’t avoid them.

Your little tongues lash at my heart.

Don’t you know I’m only doing what you taught?

You know when you should stop,

When I’m on the brink, can’t take no more assaults.

But you don’t, no you won’t,

Don’t you know I’m only doing what you taught?

Your biggest mistake was showing how little you care for,

Other’s mistakes, We’re only human, we’re only human,

I would forgive you if you asked,

But you don’t ask cause you don’t see you need to be forgiven.

Oh.

You’ll know this song’s about you,

At least I hope you will.

Like the other’s I’ll hope it’ll make you see,

Make you realize what went wrong,

How to fix it,

You can save it.

But you don’t.

Your biggest mistake was showing how little you care for,

Other’s mistakes, We’re only human, we’re only human,

I would forgive you if you asked,

But you don’t ask cause you don’t see you need to be forgiven.

You lost me.

I wish you cared, but you don’t.

Nowhere But Gone

If you could find her bed in the dark,

You can find your way out of my heart,

And I truly believe that I’ll be happier,

When you’re nowhere but gone.

When you’re nowhere but gone.

Did you think I wouldn’t notice,

That you never spend the night here.

Your white lies never did me harm,

But that last was the blackest thing to ever cross your lips,

And I know that you’re not sorry

That you met her.

But I’m sorry, I wasted my time.

If you could find her bed in the dark,

You can find your way out of my heart,

And I truly believe that I’ll be happier,

When you’re nowhere but gone.

When you’re nowhere but gone.

You were never there for me,

Even when I gave you my heart.

You said let’s be everything,

And then slid out the back door.

I know you’re not sorry, you met her,

But I’m sorry, I wasted my time.

If you could find her bed in the dark,

You can find your way out of my heart,

And I truly believe that I’ll be happier,

When you’re nowhere but gone.

When you’re nowhere but gone.

Don’t pretend like you made a mistake,

Cause once was a mistake, but now you made it a habit.

You’re a cheater, you’re a cheater,

And I’m wondering why you’re still here.

If you could find her bed in the dark,

You can find your way out of my heart,

And I truly believe that I’ll be happier,

When you’re nowhere but gone.

When you’re nowhere but gone.

Now you’re nowhere but gone.

Chase

I heard you scream the other night,

Got out of bed, but you were gone.

I haven’t seen you since.

I wonder where you are and why,

You don’t take my phone calls.

I miss you so much I can’t breathe.

You hadda go chase your demons,

Out of your head,

But I wish you’d let me help you.

You hadda go chase the demons,

Out of your bed,

But you chased me with them.

I heard somebody talk about you,

Like you were some kind of crazy.

I punched him in the mouth.

I wonder where you are and why,

You never come home.

I miss you so much, it hurts to breathe.

You hadda go chase your demons,

Out of your head,

But I wish you’d let me help you.

You hadda go chase the demons,

Out of your bed,

But you chased me with them.

I check the mailbox everyday,

Waiting on a sign that you’re okay.

I sit in silence, waiting for the back door,

To creak on open, and you’ll walk through,

Wearing that smile that you hadda to go find,

Cause I couldn’t keep it there.

You hadda go chase your demons,

Out of your head,

But I wish you’d let me help you.

You hadda go chase the demons,

Out of your bed,

But you chased me with them.

South of Sanity

I’ve been living south of sanity,

Trying to make it back to, civilization

I’m been living south of sanity, well.

I don’t wanna leave on permanent vacation.

And I’ve been wandering here,

Yeah I’ve been wandering here.

(chorus riff)

I’ve been living south of sanity, well.

Following the stars to the where I come from,

I’ve been living south of sanity, oh.

I know I know I lost my way, but I’ve learned some.

This desert calls me darling,

I make my home in it’s heart,

But this is south of sanity,

And I want to be something.

This desert calls me darling,

And it’s the only one,

But this is south of sanity,

I want to be something.

Else.

I’ve been living south of sanity well,

I’ve been taking things really slowly,

I’ve been living south of sanity well,

Three am, and the shadows know me.

And I’ve been wandering here,

Yeah I’ve been wandering here.

This desert calls me darling,

I make my home in it’s heart,

But this is south of sanity,

And I want to be something.

This desert calls me darling,

And it’s the only one,

But this is south of sanity,

I want to be something.

Else.

I’m on the bus back to where you are,

Things don’t look too familiar.

It’s been so long since I’ve seen the city,

And it’s face doesn’t seem to remember.

How it tossed me out,

How it left me to die,

It found you instead to,

Keep itself alive.

So I get off the bus,

And walk back to my home.

I’d rather live south of sanity,

Than live sane alone.

And I’ve been wandering here,

Yeah I’ve been wandering here.

This desert calls me darling,

I make my home in it’s heart,

But this is south of sanity,

And I want to be something.

This desert calls me darling,

And it’s the only one,

But this is south of sanity,

I want to be something.

Here.

Smile, Today

I won’t get the phone

Cause they’re calling me up

Just, to tell me that I’m not okay.

I keep promising myself,

That tomorrow will be better,

And that it’s them taking the chances away.

But all my fears, are real now.

And the bruises I keep avoiding,

Are stinging me all at once.

This isn’t is where I’m supposed to be,

Only temporary,

I’m gonna make someone smile today.

Cause everything’s so lonely,

Can you feel me grinning at you,

Can I help you smile, today.

Please, make time for me,

To change your life,

I swear I’ll only be a minute.

Okay, keep walking but there’s a million other people,

Looking for help just like you,

And willing to take it from anywhere they can get it.

This isn’t is where I’m supposed to be,

Only temporary,

I’m gonna make someone smile today.

Cause everything’s so lonely,

Can you feel me grinning at you,

Can I help you smile, today.

And you, darling you,

If I could give you the stars,

They’d be under your arms,

I’m sorry, I can’t reach that far.

And you, darling you,

Will be the only one to make me fall.

This hard.

This isn’t is where we’re supposed to be,

Only temporary,

We’re gonna make someone smile today.

Cause everyone’s so lonely,

Can you feel me grinning at you,

Can I help you smile, today.

Never Tell Me Goodbye

Something says I’m too attached.

Cause you’ll move forward

I’ll get left back.

Something says I’m being too honest.

Cause I’ll look stupid when you go.

I wish I was more afraid

To say what I’m gonna say

Never tell me goodbye

I’ll never say it back

Won’t ever leave your side

Never tell me goodbye

Don’t ever mean it

Don’t ever go

I’ll be yours forever,

You and me, together,

Let’s go.

Won’t ever say goodbye.

Something says you mean it now,

But maybe you won’t.

Got my eyes closed, feeling you out,

I want to but I don’t.

Something says, I’m falling deep.

But I’ll be down, when you leave.

I wish I was more afraid,

To tell you what you mean to me.

Never tell me goodbye

I’ll never say it back

Won’t ever leave your side

Never tell me goodbye

Don’t ever mean it

Don’t ever go

I’ll be yours forever,

You and me, together,

Let’s go.

Won’t ever say goodbye.

It’s unfair, to ask you, if you still care.

It’s unfair, to ask you, if you still care.

I’ll be yours forever,

You and me together,

Let’s go.

Won’t ever say goodbye.

Took It For Mine

You said I fucked up your life.

But I only fucked with your mind.

Such a smoking gun,

Such a bitten lip,

Like the forbidden fruit,

Without you I wouldn’t exist.

Don’t leave, or tell me you’re gonna,

Cause we both know you’re not that strong.

You can’t go find what’s yours,

Cause I took it for mine.

You’ve got no place to go, then stay,

Cause I’ve always got room for your broken smile.

You swear you’d be better off,

With someone different.

I say, but who’d get you off,

The way I do.

We both know I’m not kidding,

It’s how we are.

Who would I be, if I didn’t love your every scar.

Don’t leave, or tell me you’re going.

Cause we both know you’re not strong.

You can’t go find what’s yours,

Cause I took it for mine.

You’ve got no place to go, then stay,

Cause I’ve always got room for your broken smile.

You’d only walk away,

If I pushed you out that door.

Please stay.

You’d only walk away,

If I pushed you out that door,

Please stay.

You can’t go find what’s yours,

Cause I took it for mine.

You’ve got no place to go, then stay,

Cause I’ve always got room for your broken smile.

Have it back, if it makes you happy.

But I’ll always have you in my hands.

You’ve got no place to go, so stay,

Cause I’ve always got ways to make you fix that broken smile.

The Nightmare (Wanna Be Your Dream)

It gets hard to feel you in my dreams,

When we’re all black and white, ripped apart at the seams.

Lost track of time, and where I am,

Back to the start or nearing the end.

Lost sight of real, I can only pretend.

You’re the nightmare, lying to me,

But I keep your secrets, cause I wanna be your dream.

You’re the nightmare, making me scream,

But I keep coming back, cause I wanna be your dream.

You don’t feel me…

It’s time to realize what went wrong,

When I’m shaking, and bleeding, and not sorry at all,

How I got here, where I am,

Lost in your mirrors, here comes the end.

Lost sight of real, I can only pretend.

You’re the nightmare, lying to me,

But I keep your secrets, cause I wanna be your dream.

You’re the nightmare, making me scream,

But I keep coming back, cause I wanna be your dream.

You don’t feel me…

Maybe this time, you’ll meet me,

Take me to where I belong.

I won’t wake up screaming,

And if I do, I’ll be in your arms.

You’re the nightmare, lying to me,

But I keep your secrets, cause I wanna be your dream.

You’re the nightmare, making me scream,

But I keep coming back, cause I wanna be your dream.

You don’t feel me…

Do you feel me?

Cultured Perfection

You speak the tongue of reason

To the queen of idealism

Whisper in my ear again

The words you say are cultured perfection.

Woah, start praying, woah.

Cause darling, they’ll never catch us alive.

You sound impressed

But you haven’t seen nothing yet

I’m holding your breath

With my cultured perfection.

You meet me at my middle,

But I’ll be late, oh just a little,

Tell it to my heart again,

The words you say are cultured perfection.

Woah, start paying, woah.

Cause darling, you’re setting this on fire.

You sound impressed

But you haven’t seen nothing yet

I’m holding your breath

With my cultured perfection.

Take my picture,

I’m such a vision,

Take my picture,

Lights on or off?

Take my picture,

It’s so unnatural,

Take my picture,

Lights on or off?

You sound impressed,

But you haven’t seen anything yet,

I’m holding your breath,

With my cultured perfection.

Cause darling, we’re making this a mess.

They’ll never catch us…alive.
