Vanity

You’ve been a statue in my head

Something I can’t run from for very long

It’s coming clear the words you said

Aren’t easily meant, you’ve been saying them for very long

Was it easier to let me forget myself

Is it easier to sleep without me now

I tried to change but it was all in vain

It’s hopeless, now,

You’re just a statue in my head I can’t lose you now

It’s been a long year of nothing

Nothing to say so I keep quiet

You let me stand in my silence, darling

But now I fall to my knees, and cry, yeah

Was it easier to let me forget myself

Is it easier to sleep without me now

I tried to change but it was all in vain

It’s hopeless, now,

You’re just a statue in my head I can’t lose you now

All the rings of water they circle you

All the kinds of lover I was to you

You left me, with a statue

To carry around, This rock is heavier

Now that you drowned in yourself

Was it easier to let me forget myself

Is it easier to sleep without me now

I tried to change but it was all in vain

It’s hopeless, now,

You’re just a statue in my head I can’t lose you now
