Everything You Want

I’ve got this dream

It’s reoccurring

You talk to me

Without a sound.

These voices, whispers

Keep on coming

From everywhere

Except your mouth.

Don’t look, just yet,

I’m not quite done,

Being everything you want

Step up to the microphone

I can’t hear your troubles from in my ear

Don’t look, just yet,

I’m not quite ready,

Being everything you want.

Step up to the microphone,

I can’t hear your troubles from in my ears.

I’ve got this voice

But you can’t hear it

You count the ways

You change my mind

Your eyes, your hands

They keep on stirring,

The emotions

Behind our sighs.

Don’t look, just yet,

I’m not quite done,

Being everything you want

Step up to the microphone

I can’t hear your troubles from in my ear

Don’t look, just yet,

I’m not quite ready,

Being everything you want.

Step up to the microphone,

I can’t hear your troubles from in my ears.

Shh…

Shh…

I promised I would make this go away.

I would make them the truth,

But I forgot what you said that was.

I can’t keep track of what you said that was.

Don’t look, just yet,

I’m not quite done,

Being everything you want

Step up to the microphone

I can’t hear your troubles from in my ear

Don’t look, just yet,

I’m not quite ready,

Being everything you want.

Step up to the microphone,

I can’t hear your troubles from in my ears.

I’ve got this dream it’s reoccurring

You talk to me without a sound…

Diamond (In The Rough)

I sleep all day,

Worry at night.

The things you say,

Don’t feel all right.

Sometimes we’re perfect,

Sometimes we’re a hurricane.

These up’s and down’s are important.

It means we can’t go to waste.

Would you throw away a diamond?

Right now we’re in the rough, I’ll admit.

Would you throw away a diamond?

Why can’t we work through this?

I talk too much,

I know, I know.

But you talk too loud,

Steal my thoughts away.

We fight too much,

About the stupidest things,

But the make up makes

It worth it in the end.

Would you throw away a diamond?

Right now we’re in the rough, I’ll admit.

Would you throw away a diamond?

Why can’t we work through this?

Can’t you see the naked value?

Can’t you see the treasure we hold?

Would you throw away,

A little piece of shiny gold?

Would you throw away a diamond?

Right now we’re in the rough, I’ll admit.

Would you throw away a diamond?

Why can’t we work through this?

Repeat

This band aids soaked in salty water,

Cover the wound but it still cries out.

Where do you go when they find you crying?

What do you need when you’re really dying?

She’s been driving for a million years,

Tryna get to furthest place from here.

Shove her failures under her nose,

But I’ve seen it already,

Heard this before.

Don’t take it so personally,

I didn’t have you in mind,

When I was playing repeat.

Now the scars they faded away

So I don’t get to keep even that fucking memory

Where do you run when they see you crying?

What do you need when you’re finally dying?

She’s been driving for a billion years,

Tryna get to furthest place from here.

Shove her failures under her nose,

But I’ve seen it already,

Heard this before.

Don’t take it so personally,

I didn’t have you in mind,

When I was playing repeat.

She swears she’s passed this road some time ago,

Been idling in circles.

She hates it when you see her cry.

She hates it cause she know she’s dying inside.

Shove her failures under her nose,

But I’ve seen it already,

Heard this before.

Don’t take it so personally,

I didn’t have you in mind,

When I was playing repeat.

You Got Me

I’m walking down the hall,

I saw the paintings changed expressions

And the grass must take more effort

Cause they say it’s always greener where you water it.

I’m headed to a place where I can’t be sure of anything,

I’m headed to a place called nothing short of amazing,

I’m headed to a place, headed to a place.

The room is spinning but I haven’t been drinking.

Is this your  way of keeping girls from thinking?

One more time, can you pass that by me?

I’d follow you anywhere now, and it’s bad when it’s get’s like that.

You know you got me where you want me.

I saw the staircase switch directions

And the carpet must take more effort

Cause it’s burning my every step.

Obvious.

Everything will fade away.

You can be the only light you need.

I’ll be the sights you see.

And everything you ever dreamed,

I can make it happen,

Maybe, well I can try.

While I was thinking it was obvious,

I guess you never noticed that I love you,

I love you.

While I was thinking it was obvious,

I never made it clear that this is honest,

I love you, I promise.

I look into your eyes and I see sadness.

I’m not surprised but not encouraged.

Cause I’m killing myself just to see you smile.

I hold your hand, kiss your ears.

I’ll drown out the sounds you don’t want to hear.

What can I do to be good enough?

To save you.

While I was thinking it was obvious,

I guess you never noticed that I love you,

I love you.

While I was thinking it was obvious,

I never made it clear that this is honest,

I love you, I promise.

You light up,

You kiss me.

That was all I ever wanted

Since the day I came alive.

While I was thinking it was obvious,

I guess you never noticed that I love you,

I love you.

While I was thinking it was obvious,

I never made it clear that this is honest,

I love you, I promise.

Call Me

Everyday stories never get told

Everyday habits so quickly getting old

I’m too tired to tie myself down

If you wanted me that bad maybe you should’ve hung around

Did I scare you when I said I cared?

Maybe I should’ve lied,

Cause this pillow just won’t hold me

Like you did.

So next time you say call me

Maybe you should answer the phone

Cause now my head is ringing and,

I’m still here all alone.

So next time you say call me

You should know that I just won’t

How’s this for I’ll leave a message

Don’t call me back, just don’t.

It’s been two weeks and I’ve written seven letters

Won’t send em, don’t you worry, I’ve learned better.

I’m too tired to wait myself down,

You said you wanted me that bad, then didn’t stick around.

Did I scare you when I said that I cared?

Maybe I should’ve lied.

Cause these tissues just don’t pull me through

Like you did when I cried.

So next time you say call me

Maybe you should answer the phone

Cause now my head is ringing and,

I’m still here all alone.

So next time you say call me

You should know that I just won’t

How’s this for I’ll leave a message

Don’t call me back, just don’t.

Maybe I’d like the sound of voice,

Fill my ears, guide my heart,

Lack of trust, lead to lack of noise,

I’m something you just can’t confront.

But you shouldn’t have said that.

If you didn’t mean that.

Did I scare you, when I said I cared?

Should I have lied?

Cause I can’t talk to me.

Like you did.

So next time you say call me

Maybe you should answer the phone

Cause now my head is ringing and,

I’m still here all alone.

So next time you say call me

You should know that I just won’t

How’s this for I’ll leave a message

Don’t call me back, just don’t.

Undertaker

These are the eyes to an empty soul

My lips are those of a liar.

I didn’t mean to curse what I came from

But I guess I can’t just forget.

These are the marks of a danger

I’m standing too close to the edge

Too scared to fall, too scared to turn away

Could you push me just one more step?

I’m trapped under the ice

Of being what you wanna see

My hands have just been tied

By the fate I brought for me

Your quick sand grabbed my ankles

But when I looked to you for help

I saw you were the undertaker,

With my first class ticket to hell.

If you only knew what I talk about

When I’m alone at night

Would you be surprised?

This tongue is heavy lately.

These are the prayers of she without one

Am I dead yet?

I’m trapped under the ice

Of being what you wanna see

My hands have just been tied

By the fate I brought for me

Your quick sand grabbed my ankles

But when I looked to you for help

I saw you were the undertaker,

With my first class ticket to hell.

And it’s just all gray,

I watch it fade, away.

I almost tried,

Til I thought it would be safer to runaway.

I’m trapped under the ice

Of being what you wanna see

My hands have just been tied

By the fate I brought for me

Your quick sand grabbed my ankles

But when I looked to you for help

I saw you were the undertaker,

With my first class ticket to hell.

And I Finally Tell You (Fuck Off)

When you said,

I was selfish.

You never heard an arguement.

Yeah, you say,

That I’m useless,

But I have a purpose I just don’t know what it is, yet.

But you say,

That I’m stupid.

And I finally tell you,

You’re wrong.

Fuck off.

You should know what I’m about, by now.

I’m real.

Fuck off.

You should’ve known that that was not the thing to say,

All your sorries never make it all okay,

And I’m the brat that I wanna be,

Every single second of every single day.

You can’t change me.

Paper Cuts.

So far, so far.

They’ve only seen my cry,

They’ve never seen me try,

Harder than them.

So far, so far.

They’re living ignorant.

They’ve got the best of it,

But they just never know,

Oh listen.

Drink up, quick girl,

They’re coming to find you.

Run run, quick girl,

Cause no one will hide you.

Maybe, when we’re grown up,

These paper cuts won’t hurt so much,

And we’ll be the ones we hated,

Who never got it, lived so jaded.

Maybe, when we’re grown up,

These paper cuts won’t hurt this much.

So far, so far.

They’ve only heard the stories.

They think I say I am sorry.

But I never tell the truth.

So far, so far.

They think they’ve got the picture,

But they don’t see it clearly,

Blurring the lines.

Oh listen.

Drink up, quick girl,

They’re coming to find you.

Run run, quick girl,

Cause no one will hide you.

Maybe, when we’re grown up,

These paper cuts won’t hurt so much,

And we’ll be the ones we hated,

Who never got it, lived so jaded.

Maybe, when we’re grown up,

These paper cuts won’t hurt this much.

Cause no one will hide you,

Not from this.

Not from these paper cuts.

Better Than This

You find your caves to be so inviting,

But you never realized that’s why you’re always hiding.

You show love in ways that you understand,

Never by a kiss, gentle touch of your hand.

Keep me here, try as you might.

But you know you can’t, I might fight.

Your cage is bare, empty and cold,

It’s no surprise I’ll die before I’m old.

Tell me to smile, I dare you.

Tell me it’ll all be just fine.

From the outside of the padded cage,

The future looks so bright.

I tried, your policies,

Fake smiles and a taunting secret.

You lied, you promised me,

That one day I’d be better than this.

You find your lies to be so inspiring,

So don’t find what I do surprising,

You show love in ways, only you understand.

Never with a nice word, gentle touch of your hand.

Tell me to smile, I dare you.

Tell me it’ll all be just fine.

From the outside of the padded cage,

My future looks so bright.

I tried, your policies,

Fake smiles and a taunting secret.

You lied, you promised me,

That one day I’d be better than this.

Just let me spread my wings,

Fly, where, I wanna fly.

Don’t care, cause you don’t care,

Don’t practice your mother face,

Every night in the mirror,

Cause it never looked that great anyways.

I tried, your policies,

Fake smiles and a taunting secret.

You lied, you promised me,

That one day I’d be better than this.

Don’t You See?

Oh baby, don’t you see?

What you’re dying to lose

Is what I’m dying to be.

Don’t you see?

How hard you fight,

For something you can’t see.

How close I come,

To be what you need.

Don’t you see?

Oh baby, don’t you see?

I ask too many questions.

But you lie about answers

I should just shut up,

Why do I try?

You’re the still the one I love,

After all this time.

Oh baby, don’t you see?

Standing In My Shadow

It’s been raining on the search for my mind,

Finally I see it hiding,

You’ll break me in my suicide,

And watch my ghost succeed.

It’s been heavy water for my heart,

Seeing everything I’ve done just falling apart,

I’ve closed my eyes to the dark,

But I still hear the screams.

When the sun came out

And I saw the light

Everything I’d been holding inside,

Broke it’s fragile leash.

When the sun came out

So I saw the light

Doesn’t mean I can’t deny

That you were right and I’m just too hard to please,

When I’m standing in my shadow.

If I was waiting on a sign of life,

This is my chance to do everything right.

When the sun came out

And I saw the light

Everything I’d been holding inside,

Broke it’s fragile leash.

When the sun came out

So I saw the light

Doesn’t mean I can’t deny

That you were right and I’m just too hard to please,

When I’m standing in my shadow.
