Oyster

Now I’m scared to fade away

Cause all my friends are ghosts

I have seen what it does to them

To know they’re not at their worst

Just yet

I have buried all my sense

Under self loathing pride

I have buried all my sense

In an oyster deep inside

You want to contain this?

You wanna avoid this?

Just one more internal conflict

You won’t survive.

I’m watching from the sidelines

Without one tear in my eye,

Cause you were begging for this all along,

Now it comes along  and you hide,

In an oyster.

Now you’re scared to greet the day

Cause you know it could be your last

As just another shadow unfacing

The things you wish were photographs

You have buried all you sense

Under self loathing pride

You have buried all your sense

In an oyster deep inside

You want to contain this?

You wanna avoid this?

Just one more internal conflict

You won’t survive.

I’m watching from the sidelines

Without one tear in my eye,

Cause you were begging for this all along,

Now it comes along  and you hide,

In an oyster.

Let the waves crash your bone-dry face,

Cause the stones have made you broken.

Sigh again, for the sun you know,

Another want left unspoken.

You have buried all your sense…

You want to contain this?

You wanna avoid this?

Just one more internal conflict

You won’t survive.

I’m watching from the sidelines

Without one tear in my eye,

Cause you were begging for this all along,

Now it comes along  and you hide,

In an oyster.
