Race Away

Could we move just a little bit faster?

I’m tired of standing so still.

You never took that chance on me like you promised,

But I guess I never really showed enough promise.

Left foot, and right foot,

Just one at a time,

Moving closer,

To the end of our lives.

Race, away,

Your sunlight burning through my gray,

Race, away,

A shooting star just miles from me, now,

And I’m catching up with you,

Not letting go so soon,

But I watch you race away.

Could we move just a little south of nowhere?

I’m so tired of still living.

You never look at me like you used to,

I guess I took some getting used to.

Left foot, right foot,

Just one at a time,

Moving just another inch closer,

To the best part of our lives.

Race, away,

Your sunlight burning through my gray,

Race, away,

A shooting star just miles from me, now,

And I’m catching up with you,

Not letting go so soon,

But I watch you race away.

I chase, what I want,

Sometimes away from the light.

I chase, what I want,

Sometimes away from the light.

Race, away,

Your sunlight burning through my gray,

Race, away,

A shooting star just miles from me, now,

And I’m catching up with you,

Not letting go so soon,

But I watch you race away.
