Letters To Me

This is the first draft of my heart,

I thought it would probably be a good place to start,

Cause you left me with my jaw on the floor,

And now it seems you back and you’re wanting more

I only set out to be, what is impossible,

What could never be, is so much more likeable,

And if you disagree, I guess you’re entitled,

But in your letters to me, could you keep it all quiet

Oh, please. You could never keep quiet.

This is first step towards the door,

I thought I’d sing a song make it count a little more,

Cause you left with me with a smile so broken,

And now it’s like you’re angry that I still keep hoping.

I only set out to be, what is impossible,

What could never be, is so much likeable,

And if you disagree, I guess you’re entitled,

But in your letters to me, would you keep it all quiet,

Oh, please. You could never be quiet.

You never had a problem with leaving me lonely,

And now that I’m not it’s like you want to re-own me,

The asking price is so much more, it’s amazing how cool it is to sometimes be adored,

And love is priceless, so undecided,

I love with my mind made up,

So shut up.

I only set out to be, what is impossible,

What could never be, is so much likeable,

And if you disagree, I guess you’re entitled,

Don’t write your letters to me, would you keep it all tied up,

Oh, please. You could never be quiet.

Just shut up.
