Let’s Not Pretend

Let’s not pretend that I,

Don’t know where the line is,

It’s not like I’m a liar,

The truth is just so easy to bend.

Let’s pretend that we are on,

The last face of the world,

And we’re taking breaths of air that we can’t find,

And we’re somehow still alive.

Somewhere on the edge of obvious,

Spider webs are finding ways to keep protecting us,

It’s all just a big mistake,

We’ve forgotten how to wait,

So we’ll never get what we want.

Let’s not pretend that I,

Won’t wake before the sunrise,

To make sure you’re in my life,

With scars properly covered.

Making us forget things,

That we never should have known.

(Oh!)

Well I should have known.

Let’s pretend that we,

Are somewhere in the skyline,

Wasting all of our time,

On things that never really matter.

Somewhere on the edge of obvious,

Spider webs are finding ways to keep protecting us,

It’s all just a big mistake,

We’ve forgotten how to wait,

So we’ll never get what we want.

You’re making me forget things,

That I never should have known,

(Ohhhh!)

Well I should’ve known.

Somewhere on the edge of obvious,

Spider webs are finding ways to keep protecting us,

It’s all just a big mistake,

We’ve forgotten how to wait,

So we’ll never get what we want.
