Careless Again

Careless hearts can make such messes,

Tying knots with silken sashes,

Leaving me to burn away inside,

And then kissing all the ashes.

It’s a moth to the flame at the end of the written world.

Again,

They beat us down again,

Again,

They take our strength again,

Again,

They leave us down,

But we will rise.

Again.

Careless words can make such dangers,

New born babies in broken mangers,

I’ve no exposure to anything else,

And then I’m kissing strangers,

It’s a moth to the flame at the end of the written world,

Again,

They beat us down again,

Again,

They take our strength again,

Again,

They leave us down,

But we will rise.

Again.
