Will You Care To Know

When I finally get home from the things of the day

I say hello to the stranger in my house

It must be nice to be somebody else

And I slip into something he might

Regard as beautiful

We wanna be beautiful.

But masks can hide who we really are

But never can they fully erase all the scars

When the lights go down

And my fears get the best of me

Will you care to see through my disguise?

Know the girl behind wide eyes?

Behind the mask.

Forget How To Talk

This is killing me.

How bad I want you.

How I can’t tell you

It’s gotta be a secret.

I don’t expect you

To just sit here

Wait for me to figure myself out

It could take a lifetime,

But right now you’re all I want,

And it’s so crazy,

Intentionally mistaken,

Goodnight, goodbye,

I leave you for my dreams of you,

I whisper to your ghost in my head,

And forget how to talk to you.

And it’s so crazy.

And I’m so crazy.

And I’m so sorry.

Burn For You

Your hand touched my hand,

Don’t say it was, an accident, honey,

I felt the friction, felt the heat,

That you radiate, baby,

It wasn’t an accident.

Trying to find your heart

Trying to find a way, to make you mine,

Trying to find your heart

But it’s hard in the dark.

Light me up, til I’m just a flame,

Keep burning for you, burning for you

Light me up, make me see again,

I’ve got nothing to do, nothing to do,

But burn for you.

You kissed the match between my fingers,

Please don’t be full of smoke.

You kissed the match between my fingers.

Light me up, til I’m just a flame,

Keep burning for you, burning for you

Light me up, make me see again,

I’ve got nothing to do, nothing to do,

But burn for you.

Your hand touched my hand,

Don’t say it was, an accident, honey,

I felt the friction, felt the heat,

That you radiate, baby,

It wasn’t an accident.

Light me up, til I’m just a flame,

Keep burning for you, burning for you

Light me up, make me see again,

I’ve got nothing to do, nothing to do,

But burn for you.

Enemies, Anti-me’s.

Pick fights with those who

Are different from you

Don’t try and understand

They move in circles and you

Never get the point of it

Stand back, let us blow you away

I’ve got that poison high

Stand back, listen what I say

It all comes out tonight.

We don’t want to be the anti-you

You do that on your own

I don’t need another enemy

You don’t have to be the anti-me.

But you try.

You swear

The outcomes worth the damage done

But they’re not all that convinced.

Hide the blood with your empty eyes,

Did you think we wouldn’t get to the bottom of it?

Stand back, let us blow you away

I’ve got that poison high

Stand back, listen what I say

It all comes out tonight.

We don’t want to be the anti-you

You do that on your own

I don’t need another enemy

You don’t have to be the anti-me.

But you try.

Oh, try, try, try, again

The ashes all fall down.

Try, try, try, and purge my skin,

But there’s just too much I’ll never live it down.

Oh, try try try, again.

The ashes all fall down.

Try, try, try and purge my skin,

But there’s just too much, there’s just too much,

It’s just too much.

We don’t want to be the anti-you

You do that on your own

I don’t need another enemy

You don’t have to be the anti-me.

But you try.

Dream It

My eyes are still just as open

As the day that we first met

I wasn’t fooling myself into thinking

This was going to be healthy for me

I can’t tell if you’re broken

Cause you never look too well

I wasn’t fooling myself into thinking

This was going to be healthy.

Don’t pretend like I’m dying without you

Cause until you said it

I didn’t know you weren’t there

I guess you were never really there at all then.

It’s just as clear to me now

That you never really figured it out

You were pretending

To be well aware

It’s just as mixed up

As the day we called it off

I wasn’t pretending

I would be fine.

Don’t pretend like I’m dying without you

Cause until you said it

I didn’t know you weren’t there

I guess you were never really there at all then.

If it helps you sleep to know I’m always awake,

Then dream it.

Then dream it.

If it helps you sleep to know I’m always awake,

Then dream it.

Then dream it.

Don’t pretend like I’m dying without you

Cause until you said it

I didn’t know you weren’t there

I guess you were never really there at all then.

All Is Fair

I wasn’t prepared for an all out ambush

I wasn’t aware I’d be under attack

I stepped into the clearing and cupid caught sight of me

Just as I was learning my way back.

This rope that has tied me

From the waist to your heart

I’m finding it easier to keep from falling apart

Your enemy lines are too blurred in the sand

I raise the white flag and I give you my hand.

All is fair in love and war

But maybe it’s all just the same

We fight for our peace

It’s a catch twenty two

When you forget what you started fighting for.

Here, is the boundary

The risk that you take

The real world connection they warned it would make

You’re losing the battles,

They swore that you’d lose,

Only one arrow left,

And so many victims to choose.

Your enemy lines are too blurred in the sand

I raise the white flag and I give you my hand.

All is fair in love and war

But maybe it’s all just the same

We fight for our peace

It’s a catch twenty two

When you forget what you started fighting for.

It’s the way, you,

Steal my breath,

It’s the sight of you,

Makes me take that last step,

I’d fight til the death,

If you were on my side.

All is fair in love and war

But maybe it’s all just the same

We fight for our peace

It’s a catch twenty two

When you forget what you started fighting for.

All is fair in love and war

But maybe it’s all just the same

We fight for our peace

It’s a catch twenty two

When you forget what you started fighting for.

All is fair in love and war,

But maybe it’s all just the same…

Falling

I’m sure every tongue you ever tasted was sweeter than my blunt knife

You don’t remind me of those things, but to my heart it’s implied.

All the ways, you count to get here,

And still I find, myself alone.

It’s up and down,

This love of life,

At least for me,

It’s black and white.

I don’t know how to hold on,

I’m not that strong,

Are you that strong?

Don’t you know that your palm has got my heart

Don’t squeeze too tight, don’t squeeze too tightly,

Don’t you know that your heart has got my heart

Don’t let me fall away, when I fall for you

I’m sure every word they’ve whispered you’ve heard a billion times,

But tell me have you ever kissed scars like mine?

All the ways I count to get there,

And I still find myself alone.

I’m falling…

And I don’t know how to stop.

Mixed Up

Cause if we’re all just going nowhere,

We might as well go together,

Split the cab fair.

And it’s easy knowing who you are,

When you get all alone.

But when I’m with you things get mixed up,

We bleed right into one,

And I forget myself.

I forget myself.

Never Tell Lies

I found some feelings in the bottom of my sock drawer

I thought I hid them from you, But I just hid them from me

I’m sorry I was never honest about anything

I’m sorry I told you I never tell lies.

Up until now I forgot that I had these

Now they’re like sand in my eyes.

Maybe I shouldn’t have told you

That I never tell lies.

I found some memories in the back of my closet

I thought I threw these away, but I kept them instead,

I’m sorry I was never honest about anything

Up until now I forgot that I hated these.

Now it’s like one more regret

Maybe I shouldn’t have told you

That I never tell lies.

I lied, I lie all the time,

To you, to myself,

To everyone,

I don’t know why.

I found some pictures in the bottom of my heart

I thought I burned them, but I’m too scared of fire.

I’m sorry I was never honest about anything

Up until now I had sworn I was fine.

Now it’s like the smokes in my eyes,

Maybe I shouldn’t have told you

That I never tell lies.

Never tell lies.

I found some feelings in the bottom of my sock drawer,

I thought I hid them from you, but I just hid them from me.

Please Smile

And now it’s out. And I can go back to doing things like breathing, and thinking about things other than you. Reality is crazy sometimes I think, especially when it hits you hard. I don’t appreciate reality with you. I hardly notice it when we talk, honestly. I forget myself, and I forget who I pretend to be. You make it easy. Not to breathe, of course. But to forget. Sometimes we could all use a little less oxygen. I’m going to write a song called that. I hope you’ll like it. I hope it makes you smile.

Meet The Sun

On the back of a butterfly

You sat and watched the world go by

You watched the little ghosts play and seek

And then you saw when the two souls met the sun.

The cheek on a summer breeze

You lapped the river, cooled my knees,

Reminded of some old country song.

And you showed me how the two souls met the sun.

You fell but I will

Catch you

You cry but I will

Make you laugh

I promise I will

Be there

Until our souls one day

Meet the sun.

Now the grass is just your pillow

Watch the sky lay next to me.

You be the stars, and I’ll be the dark,

One day we’ll watch the two souls meet the sun.

You fell but I will

Catch you

You cry but I will

Make you laugh

I promise I will

Be there

Until our souls one day

Meet the sun.

You be the stars, and I’ll be the dark,

Until our souls one day meet the sun.

You’re Gone

I break the mirrors

Not to see me cry

I scream at the walls

Like they’re the reason why

I know it’s all my fault

But I can’t come to terms

You left because of me

And now that you’re gone

I still stand in your shadow,

I still talk to your memory,

I’ll never forget the way we danced.

(But you’re gone)

I still stand in your shadow,

I still sing to your melody,

I’ll never forget the way it was.

(But you’re gone)

I make up stories

To escape the truth

I’m just a shell of a girl

Scared, without you

Maybe there’ll be tomorrow

Maybe there wont

To find me a voice from somewhere

But now that you’re gone

I still stand in your shadow,

I still talk to your memory,

I’ll never forget the way we danced.

(But you’re gone)

I still stand in your shadow,

I still sing to your melody,

I’ll never forget the way it was.

(But you’re gone)

I’ll never forgive

Myself for trusting you

I’ll never forgive

Myself for losing you

I’ll never forgive

Myself for trusting you

I’ll never forgive

Myself for losing you

I’ll never forgive

Myself for missing you

But now that you’re gone.

It’s like there’s new air,

Without your scent,

Something becoming clear,

Maybe I’m just insane,

From deprivation,

Maybe I’m onto something,

Like you were never worth this.

I can only see this.

After you’re gone.
