Closer

Now you’ve touched my fears with your own two hands,

When I say I’m scared, will you, understand?

I’ve never been closer to falling apart,

But I’ve never felt closer to somebody else’s heart.

Now you’ve the seen dark with your own two eyes,

Left the poison on your tongue, told you not to bite,

I’ve never been closer to the edge of the fall,

But I’ve never felt closer to being worth anything at all.

It must be something that you do,

Makes it so easy to fall right into you,

You must be something unheard of something true,

Cause I find it so difficult to stop smiling at you.

Now you’ve tasted blood that’s still in my mouth,

Now I find it hard to think, breath without,

I’ve never felt farther from being alone,

But I’ve never felt farther from anything known.

Now you’ve cooled the cuts that still mark up my skin,

Underneath your bold actions, there’s a good, true intent.

I’ve never felt farther but anything sane,

But I’ve never felt farther from needing a hole in my brain.

It must be something that you do,

Makes it so easy to fall right into you,

You must be something unheard of something true,

Cause I find it so difficult to stop smiling at you.

It must be something that you do,

Makes it so easy to fall right into you,

You must be something unheard of something true,

Cause I find it so difficult to stop smiling at you.

Kaleidoscopes

This kaleidoscopes been putting you in bad light,

I must be looking through the wrong way,

These drinks are finally getting to my eyes,

Cause I swore I just saw, what I never wanted to see.

It must be me imagining things at midnight,

Cause I swore I saw you out there with somebody else,

It must be me seeing things in this light,

Cause I hope I didn’t see you, out there with somebody else.

The shadows on your face make it hard to mistake,

And I think about walking over.

The smile she’s faking says it’s more about the after party,

Less about making sure what you’re doing is worth this.

It must be imagining things at midnight,

Cause I swore I saw you out there, with somebody else,

It must be me seeing things in this light,

Cause I hope I didn’t see you, out there with somebody else.

I walk over shake your hand, like we’ve met for the first time,

Guess I wasn’t crazy, can you believe what you are seeing?

Hello, do you remember me? That’s all you’ve got left to do with me.

It wasn’t this kaleidoscope, you put yourself in a bad light.

It wasn’t this kaleidoscope, it wasn’t this kaleidoscope.

Missing You Now

If I seized every chance to tell you how I felt,

Let everything you say clearly make me melt,

Would I still be missing you now?

If I told you everyday, a thousands ways,

I hoped you would always stay,

Would I still be missing you now?

The chapter’s closed, the story’s been told,

The ending not quite what I had wanted.

The mistake’s been made, I’ll forget everything,

And you’ll just be another bad dream.

If you never left your smiles on the side of my face,

And you told me how easy I’d be to replace,

Would I still be missing you now?

If I forgot that summer where we loved,

And remembered every other girl you ever talked of,

Would I still be missing you now?

If I counted every let down just as much as every pick up,

If I remembered all the bad parts and never ever smiled,

Would I still be missing you now?

If I let myself forgot your name and lost myself in somebody else,

Wonder if I’ll ever love the same, if I did it again,

Would I still be missing you now?

The chapter’s closed, the story’s been told,

The ending not quite what I had wanted.

The mistake’s been made, I’ll forget everything,

And you’ll just be another bad dream.

Stupid Mouth

I used to pray to God to listen,

Now I hope he doesn’t hear,

Cause my multi purposed tongue,

Has gotten worse for wear.

The things it says aren’t nice,

In fact they’re pretty nasty,

Unless you wanna take this outside,

You should probably sit back down,

This stupid mouth, this stupid mouth,

It’s more trouble that it’s worth, I’m afraid.

This stupid mouth, this stupid mouth,

Wastes so much time talking about you,

This stupid mouth.

I used to scream for you to hear me,

Now I say a soft goodbye,

I’ve embarrassed myself by staying so long,

But we were talking all the while.

I know I’ve said some pretty bad things,

One or two I didn’t mean,

But if it’s true than why shouldn’t it form on my lips?

This stupid mouth, this stupid mouth,

It’s more trouble that it’s worth, I’m afraid.

This stupid mouth, this stupid mouth,

Wastes so much time talking about you,

This stupid mouth.

I guess the only way to shut me up

Is to occupy this mouth…

Kiss me. Woah. Come and taste my battle cries,

Kiss me. Win the war, stop the fight,

Kiss me. One more time.

This stupid mouth, this stupid mouth,

It’s more trouble that it’s worth, I’m afraid.

This stupid mouth, this stupid mouth,

Wastes no time in talking about you,

This stupid mouth.

Happy Songs

Do they call it acoustic?

When you can hear my heart breaking in the background,

When the volumes turned up but it’s a silent sound,

That escapes you when you think they’re talking about your soul.

How did they know?

How did they know?

Your love is broken, you watched crawl away,

It feels like they sang to you today.

Do they call it ironic?

When you can sit and listen to somebody’s story

Written perfectly for you?

It doesn’t matter what they call it, cause it exists,

And it’s inside you, and you think that they’re talking about your soul.

How did they know?

How did they know?

Your heart is broken you watched him crawl away,

It feels like they’re singing to you today.

That little piece of confidence like you’re not all alone,

There’s somebody out there, who calls the messed up a state a home,

And they knew how to put it in words,

Make it heard,

That they’re hurting too, and you’ll all make it through,

Cause sometimes there’s those happy songs,

And unhappy people don’t write happy songs.

How did they know?

How did they know?

Your heart was broken but they healed it almost right,

It felt like they were singing to you, you knew that I was singing to you,

That night.

If You’re Lonely, Find Me

I’m thinking unforgiven,

I’m thinking unrequited,

I’m thinking overrated,

I’m thinking bout you tonight.

I’m thinking so mistreated,

I’m thinking record lows,

I’m thinking long goodbyes and,

I’m thinking short hellos.

Cause you haven’t heard a word I’ve said all night,

I won’t sit here, wait to say good night.

If you’re lonely, you know where to find me,

When I’m broken, I can be so inviting,

My door’s open, to you any time,

If you’re lonely, you know where to find me.

You’re thinking homicidal,

You’re thinking wasted time,

You’re thinking second chances,

You’re thinking bout me tonight.

You’re thinking crazy bitch,

I’m thinking maybe he’s right,

You’re thinking one more easy lover,

You’re thinking one more liar.

Cause you haven’t heard a word I’ve said all night,

I won’t sit here, wait to say good night.

If you’re lonely, you know where to find me,

When I’m broken, I can be so inviting,

My door’s open, to you any time,

If you’re lonely, you know where to find me.

Letters To Me

This is the first draft of my heart,

I thought it would probably be a good place to start,

Cause you left me with my jaw on the floor,

And now it seems you back and you’re wanting more

I only set out to be, what is impossible,

What could never be, is so much more likeable,

And if you disagree, I guess you’re entitled,

But in your letters to me, could you keep it all quiet

Oh, please. You could never keep quiet.

This is first step towards the door,

I thought I’d sing a song make it count a little more,

Cause you left with me with a smile so broken,

And now it’s like you’re angry that I still keep hoping.

I only set out to be, what is impossible,

What could never be, is so much likeable,

And if you disagree, I guess you’re entitled,

But in your letters to me, would you keep it all quiet,

Oh, please. You could never be quiet.

You never had a problem with leaving me lonely,

And now that I’m not it’s like you want to re-own me,

The asking price is so much more, it’s amazing how cool it is to sometimes be adored,

And love is priceless, so undecided,

I love with my mind made up,

So shut up.

I only set out to be, what is impossible,

What could never be, is so much likeable,

And if you disagree, I guess you’re entitled,

Don’t write your letters to me, would you keep it all tied up,

Oh, please. You could never be quiet.

Just shut up.

The World Started Burning

Do I look tired?

Do I look sad?

I’ve been sleeping with fire,

Taking over my bed.

Do I look pissed off?

Do I look bored?

I’ve been playing with matches,

Now I’m looking for more.

Do I look like, I need another waste of my time?

Do I look like, I need somebody else to melt away my heart

And not lick up the wax from the floor, from the floor.

So, how could you walk away?

Right when the heated started coming,

The world started burning.

So, how could you walk away?

Right when the heat started coming,

The world started burning down.

Do I look nervous?

Do I look like I’m scared?

Of your dance with the flame,

Of your phoenix tears.

Do I look skeptical?

Do I look disturbed?

I’ve been leaving my ashtrays

Where you fucked other girls.

The world started burning down.

Did she burn your world, burn your world right up?

Light the whole thing up,

Right, and then the heat started coming,

The world started burning.

Gravity (incomplete)

I left, but I’m back,

A weightless chain around my neck,

But I stay for the pleasure,

If it’s only in my head.

I can prove that

I feel your gravity,

(Stop pulling, stop pulling)

Your warm hands on me,

(Stop pulling, stop pulling)

In your weight I’m buried deep

(Stop pulling, stop pulling)

I feel your gravity

Winter Need (This is what it sounds like!)

Winter Need

Dont, leave me here, in my special brand of winter,

I can’t fight the cold all on my own.

Dont, leave me here in my special brand of winter,

You know sometimes you feel like home.

Sometimes it gets cold in my head,

My fingertips go numb.

I need you then, the most, I confess,

Save the parts of me, almost gone.

Looks like you left me here, in my special brand of torture.

Loneliness has caught it’s prey.

Looks like you left me here, in my special brand of torture.

Everything has faded grey.

Sometimes it gets cold in my head,

My fingertips go numb.

I need you then, the most, I confess,

Save the parts of me, almost gone.

You kissed my fingertips,

You kissed my fingertips,

Came back for me when I was almost gone.

You’ve come to cure this winter need.

Echo

Please, don’t, let, me, fall away

Please, don’t , let, me, run away

Cause I’ll be gone,

Wishing I was here.

You won’t miss me but,

Pretend my dear.

Your voice, get’s stuck in my head,

It echos, every word you said.

Please, don’t, let, me, fall away

Please, don’t , let, me, run away

Cause I’ll be gone,

Wishing I was here.

You won’t miss me but,

Pretend my dear.
